Sharon, Vermont – Constance Marie Baldwin, 90, passed peacefully and joined the Saints triumphant, Sunday morning, January 29, 2017 at Lebanon Center Genesis Eldercare in Lebanon, NH. She was born April 7, 1926 in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Michael and Helen Marie (Hansen) Larsen. Connie graduated from Jamaica High School. She married the love of her life, Maynard Fulton Baldwin, in 1948 and they made their home in Queens Village, NY. Later they moved to Hollis (Queens), NY where she worked at a law office before taking time off to raise a family. In 1954 the family moved to Peekskill, NY where they lived until 1972. They then moved to the Baldwin homestead in Sharon, Vt. where they have lived since in the Baldwin homestead. After moving to the Upper Valley, Connie began work as the Administrative Assistant to the President of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover, retiring after nearly twenty years in 1991 just prior to the move to the new DHMC complex in Lebanon. Connie was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Hanover, NH, volunteered at the Good Neighbor Health Clinic, driving Meals on Wheels in Royalton, VT, and the Bugbee Senior Center in White River Jct. for many years and served on all of their board of directors at various times. Over the years she would become an outstanding seamstress, gourmet chef and an incredible baker but her first responsibility and joy was always as wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Maynard, in 1985. She is survived by her children, Cathy Lynn Baldwin-Dyckman of South Yarmouth, MA and her partner Rada Elegant, Maynard “Chip” Baldwin, Jr. of Sharon, VT and his wife Cindy, and Cara Baldwin Valenta of Mesa, AZ and her partner Debby Webster, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister, Marilyn Ruth Yagel of New Hyde Park, NY as well as many nieces and nephews.
she will rest next to her husband in the Baldwin Family Plot in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Sharon, Vt.
