Virgie Blevins-Rice-Parks, 85, of Welch, WV, formerly of Iaeger, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017, in Welch Community Hospital following a long illness.

Virgie was born September 11, 1931, in Iaeger, WV, a daughter of the late Orville Blevins (1906-1983) and Laura Edna Shrader-Blevins (1901-1982). She was a homemaker and a former supervisor at the Western Buckle Company in Chicago, IL. She enjoyed needlepoint and quilting and was a member of the Lex Community Church in Lex, WV.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, James "Russell" Rice (1918-1998); a daughter, Laura Daisy Rice-Osinski (1949-1995); brothers, Luther Blevins (1929-1929), Clarence Blevins (1930-1930), Henry Blevins (1935-1936), Onzie Blevins (1943-2014), & Alvis Blevins (Deceased); and two sisters, Rosie Blevins-Vanover (1945-Deceased) and Ida Blevins-McCoy (1941-2005).

Survivors include her husband, James Harold Parks (1961-2018) of Iaeger, WV; two grandchildren, Tammy Lynn Osinski-Krause and David Osinski both of Chicago, IL; three great grandchildren, Brandon Eugene Krause, Terry Krause, and Christina Krause, all of Chicago, IL; two step daughters, Maggie Parks-Mitchem & husband Mose Mitchem of Wilmore, WV, and Jamie Parks-McCoy & husband Daniel McCoy of Lealand, NC; three step grandsons, Knickolas Mitchem and Waylon Mitchem of Wilmore, WV, and Tyler Mitchem; one step granddaughter, Nyna Mitchem also of Wilmore, WV; and one brother, Albert Blevins of Princeton, WV.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 6, 2017, at 11:00 with Reverend Dillard Atwell and Reverend Albert Blevins officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV.
