C. Web Bennett, 66, of rural Humboldt, KS, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born April 24, 1940, in lola, KS, to Claude C. and Goldie M. Dunbar-Bennett. He grew up in the Geneva, KS area. He attended Carpenter School and was graduated from Iola high school in 1958.

On May 23, 1964, he was married to Margaret M. Cole at St. John's Catholic Church in Iola, KS.

He was past president of the Iola Saddle Club and MEKWHA, a horseman association, He was the voice of KSO2 (a barrel racing association for nine counties in southeast Kansas), co-founder of Dr. Pepper Youth Rodeos held in southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma, and was a member of the Kansas Invitational Old Timers Association.

He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Becky Bennett and Susie Bennett, both of Humboldt, KS; two nephews, Tony Hutton and Jamie Hicks, Iola, KS; two brothers, Chester, Buffalo, KS, and Lester, Colony, KS; two sisters, Esther Marsh, Bronson, KS, and Mary Evans, Yates Center, KS; and a grandson, John Hutton.

Burial will be Jan. 19, 2007 in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.
