CLEVELAND, Okla. Funeral services for Glenn Eikenbary will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, in Sanctuary of the Oak Hill Church on Keystone Lake with the Rev. Harrel Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Jennings Cemetery under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home, Inc. of Cleveland, Okla..

Franklin Glenn Eikenbary, a resident of Jennings, was born Dec. 31, 1926, in Oilton, Okla., to Frank W. and Litha (Pennington) Eikenbary. Glenn was raised and received his education in the Oilton area. He soon began working for the State Highway Department and he later accepted employment in the oil field as a roughneck. Glenn worked as a roughneck for several years in Oklahoma and Kansas. During this time, Glenn was united in marriage to Melba Ann (Rogers) in Oilton, Okla., on Feb. 2, 1945. Glenn was soon promoted to driller, and then moved to Lafayette, where he received employment with Frank?s Casing Crew in Louisiana in 1955. Glenn continued to work for Frank?s Casing Crew for eight years and was hired by A-1 Bit and Tool, where he worked for more than 14 years. In the late 1970s, Glenn joined A-Z International where he traveled to many different places including Port Gentile, Spain, Africa and the North Sea, as well as offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Glenn and Melba made their home in Lafayette for more than 36 years.

In the late 1990s, Glenn and Melba moved to Jennings, where they have lived and remained active in the community. Glenn loved to play cards, fish and work in his yard during his spare time. Glenn was a charter member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Lafayette, that is now Cross Roads Cathedral Church. Glenn was a member of the Oak Hill Church on Keystone Lake, as well as a past member of the Odd Fellows, Petroleum Club, Oil Men?s Bass Club and Bass Busters, all in Lafayette.

Glenn passed away Feb. 29, 2004, Sunday evening in Cushing, Okla., at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 28 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; and three brothers.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Melba, of the home; his children, Randy and his wife, Susan Eikenbary, of Vacaville, Calif., Bonita Gaddis, of Springdale, Ark., Kim and her husband, Carl LaCombe, of Lafayette, Melinda Eikenbary, of the home; four brothers, Jim Eikenbary, of Yale, Okla., Doug Eikenbary, of Barnsdall, Okla., William Omer Eikenbary, of Washington, and Woodrow Eikenbary, of Colony, Okla.; three sisters, Lois, of Houma, La., Pauline Whitehead, of Houma, La., and Ruth McLaughlin, of Barnsdall, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Ryan Glenn Eikenbary, Trevor Scott Eikenbary, Ross Carl Eikenbary, Brian Wayne Chiasson, Gwen Marie Nutt, Robin Nicole Secco, Kacie Renee Spears and Karli Brook LaCombe; five great-grandchildren, Alec Glenn Chiasson, Justin Michael Nutt, Gavin Glenn Nutt, Katherine Cullen and Orry Glenn Spears, as well as David and Linda Frick, of Jennings, Okla., Lucy Savoie, of Lafayette, La., Marge Ballenger, of Jennings, Okla., Jerry and Joan Brady, of Jennings, Okla.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
