Minta Ann Dunegan was born in May of 1887 to William Landon Dunegan Jr and Minta Ann Richards. Minta' s mother passed away shortly after her birth. It is not known if she died from illness or complications from child birth. Minta was raised by her Uncle Dallas and his wife Lucinda within the Choctaw Nation Indian Territory near Wade, Oklahoma. Minta married Vern Oliver on March 12, 1904 in Atoka, Oklahoma and had two children, Leona born in 1908 and Verna Jewel born 1909. Vern reportedly died of Tuberculosis in early 1910. Minta and both daughters are in the 1910 Bryan County, Oklahoma Census living with her Aunt. Minta married a second time to R.M. Gentry, a much older man, on December 5, 1910 in Bryan County, Oklahoma. In 1911, Minta reportedly walked from Wade, Oklahoma to Vern's sister's house in Ladonia, Fannin, Texas and died as soon as she walked in the door. It is said that Minta also had Tuberculosis. Her burial location has not been located.
