WORLD WAR II Veteran
WATERVILLE - Louis E. DuBois, 87, passed away on Jan. 29, 2017, at Orchard Park Rehab and Living Center in Farmington where he had resided since November. Louis was born August 3, 1929, in Madawaska, to parents Jean Willie DuBois, and Ozithee Bouchard DuBois.

The family relocated to Waterville where he met Anita LaBrie (DuBois) who would become his wife in 1948 and mother to five children. They were married for 52 years before Anita lost a courageous battle with cancer.

During his working years Louis was a skilled carpenter and worked for several contracting companies, he was also a talented cook and baker having worked at some of Waterville's best restaurants including the Jefferson Hotel, Holiday Inn and the Silent Woman.

He was a veteran of WWII, a member of the Waterville Elks, American Legion, and VFW for many years. In addition, he held many leadership positions in the Knights of Columbus including, Grand Knight, Faithful Navigator and District Deputy and was always ready to volunteer for activities and service projects. A number of serious health issues forced Louis into retirement in his forties but despite his disabilities he never gave up until his body finally gave out.

Louis is survived by his five children and spouses, Louise DuBois Martin and fiancée Rick Boivin, Carroll DuBois and Genevieve, Steven DuBois and Bonnie, Paula (DuBois) Nystrum, and Mary Ann (DuBois) Beverly and Bert; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and five siblings, Valier, Wallace, Norman, Cecil (Barr), and Priscilla (Hebert).
