Married Darrell Jones April 18, 1946. He preceded her in death March 9, 2002.
Survivors include daughters Gailyn Casaday and Melody (David) Payne; granddaughters Meredith (Rus) Cooper, Andrea (Mike) small, Christina (Rob) Dozier and Carlyn Casaday Robinson; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Helen Davis; brother and sister-in-law Gene and Maxine Jones,
She was also preceded in death by sister Yvonne Townsend, brother Dwight Craycraft and two nephews.
1942 graduate at the age of 16 from Covington High School.
1945 graduate from Indiana State Teachers College.
She began her teaching career at Indianola (IL) High School in 1945 and retired in 1975 from Fountain Central (IN) High School. While at FCHS, she was selected Teacher of the Year and was active in Delta Kappa Gamma. She retired from teaching to take a more active roll in the family farm.
Member of the Fountain County Farm Bureau, serving on the county board from 1975 to 2005 and was the first woman elected County Secretary-Treasurer.
She was also a member of Prairie Chaple (Hillsboro) since 1952, serving as Sunday School teacher, pianist, secretary and Ladies' Aid President.
Services 10am Saturday, February 11 at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown.
Visitation 4-8pm Friday.
