Evelyn Porter was the oldest SON of Thomas & Euphemia Dalrymple.

Evelyn was a prisoner of war, during the Civil War & captured at TREVILIAN STATION, VA. Date of Capture: 06-12-1842. Source: Andersonville Prisoner of War Database. Andersonville, GA, USA: National Park Service, Andersonville National Historic Site.

Evelyn survived his capture, unlike his younger brother Asa Manning that lost his life in a Confederate prison in Georgia. He also served the Dragoons in Civil War, NY.

After serving our country at War, Evelyn went home to his wife, Sarah Fatoule Gould, whom he married earlier on May 14, 1863, in Madison, Ohio. Their sons;

1. Dr. William Gould Dalrymple b. 1865. He was married in Montana on May 19, 1889 to Mary P. Jennan and their children: Evelyn, Thomas, John, Thomas, James. He was a dentist and lived in Utah & Los Angeles, CA. His obit published: The Dunn County News (Menomonie, Wisconsin)14 Dec 1933, Thurs Page 11.

2. THOMAS MANNING Dalrymple, (changed name to Stephen Thomas)
b. 8-25-1782, Mt. Morris, N. Y.
d. 12—27—l949, Lima, Ohio
m. Minnie Maud Faulkner m. 5-21-1896, Windsor, Canada, their Children: son, William & daughter: Dorothy Hull.

Per Jun 1905, Wisconsin State Census, he and Sarah, resided in Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin.

Update: as per #48008518, Janet Marie, she was unable to locate a gravestone in Sheridan Cemetery (Formerly Sessions Prairie Cemetery) has an older section as well. Cemetery listing compiled June 2002 by Kermit Peterson, posted online, did not have him listed in Sheridan Cemetery. Special thanks to Janet for her updates and effort to locate his grave.

after a bit of extended research, I was able to locate an obit, published: The Dunn County News (Menomonie, Wisconsin) 03 Oct 1918, Thurs, Page 5, which gave interment location in Evergreen Cemetery, (not Sheridan Cemetery) and located his wife Sarah (Gould), linked.
His memorial and burial updated: Aug, 2021.
