Born Aug. 26, 1945, in Pekin to Earl Bishop and Ellen Burger Stovall, he married Laura Laudenslager in 1963 in Pekin.
Surviving are his mother of Pekin; one daughter, Jennifer Carlton of Pekin; two sons, Jeffrey (and Trina) of Bloomington and Jason of Pekin; one sister, Patricia Roeder of Pekin; his caregiver, Cliff Gardner of Mackinaw; and five nieces whom he helped raise, Rhonda Brarksdale, Mary Terrell, Bobbie Blanquart, Tee Rynearson and Renee Sharp.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
He worked in heating and air conditioning at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 30 years.
He also was an antique dealer and an accomplished organist.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
