Joseph Anthony Bosch, 87, passed away at 5:04 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 24, 2017) at his home in Newman.

Joe was born on July 30, 1929, the son of Anthony H. and Emmeline Rund Bosch. He married Mary Margaret (Mag) Bates on Jan. 25, 1958 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tolono. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Tonia Grafton, Amy Bosch and Shelly (Neal) Wood; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren whom he adored; one brother, John (Marlene) Bosch; two sisters, Mary (Bill/Len) Hickel and Bette (George) Casey and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jodi Bosch; one brother, Bernard (Georgia) Bosch and one sister, Gertrude (Bill) Fox.

Joe grew up on the farm, and later served in the U.S. Navy, went to school and eventually came back to work on the family farm in Newman. He enjoyed the entrepreneurial spirit that farming offered.

As many who knew Joe, he lived a very full life where his love of family superseded everything. Joe and Mag raised their family in Newman and appreciated the wonderful life they were blessed with, including a wealth of fun times with friends and family (and too many memories to count!).

Joe had a great work ethic, charm and a fun sense of humor, a strong sense of family and spiritual devotion and the utmost integrity.

He also loved a good roll of the dice ... as many of you know, he was willing to "roll ya" for practically anything. He was loved by many including his grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as "Pawey."
