Born in Atlas on Feb. 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Orest and Anna (Chupak) Stuchlak.
She moved to Brooklyn, New York, in 1941, and then to Florida in 1968. Due to illness, she moved to Marion Heights on March 29, 2013.
She owned Brooklyn Ophthalmic Co. and worked as a buyer for J.W. Mays, in Brooklyn, New York. She knitted hats and booties for babies and hospice care patients.
Mary also owned the El Sabolo Motel in St. Petersburg, Florida.
She was married in 1944 in Brooklyn, New York.
She was a 1940 graduate of Mount Carmel Township High School.
She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel.
Survivors include three sisters, Helen Watcher, of Mount Joy, Irene Howanec, of Marion Heights, and Amelia Balandovich, of Bethlehem; a brother, Russell Stuchlak, of Kissimmee, Florida; nieces, nephews, great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Phillips and Anna Searle, and two brothers, Joseph Stuchlak and Father John Stuchlak.
BUZOLICH - Mary Stuchlak Buzolich, 93, formerly of Largo, Florida. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Very Archpriest Michael Hutsko at SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel. Viewing will be held from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, with a Panakhyda service at 10:15 a.m., in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Mount Carmel Township.
