Bernice Collier Lovett, 73, of Jennings, FL, died on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, after a lengthy illness. Born in Echols County to the late Joe & Sallie Rewis Collier, she was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Lovett grew up in Echols County and graduated from Echols County High School in the early 1960's. She worked for about 15 years at the Oxidental Credit Union until 1985, completing her time there as the manager. After leaving the credit union, she worked for many years as a personal caregiver, serving many individuals and families. Her favorite pastime was fishing, wherever she could with friends and family, but especially with the grandchildren. She was of the Church of God faith. Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Rhonda Y. & Donnie Lewis of Jennings, FL; son, Ronald Rogers of Lake City, FL; three grandchildren, Taylor Rogers of Pinetta, FL, D.W. Lewis of Jennings, FL and Logan Rogers of Naples, FL; and a great grandchild, Kassidy Sammons of Pinetta. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister in law, Lonnie & Nell Collier and Willie Collier, all of Statenville; and two sisters, Dolores Everette of Statenville and Myrna Faye Oxendine of Ft. Myers, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Tyler Rogers, a brother, Kelly Collier and a sister, Mary Sue Purswell.
