MRS OLIVE TORRENCE RICHARDSON PASSED AWAY AT 9 O'CLOCK THIS MORNING
One of the City’s Best Known and Most Highly Respected Women
—Mother of the
Richardson Brothers, of the Richardson lubricating Company.

This morning at 9 o'clock at the family home, 801 North Twelfth Street the gentle, kindly spirit of Mrs. Olive Torrence Richardson took its flight. While she had been more or less of an invalid for several years, her last Illness was of brief duration, she having been confined to her bed only since last Saturday, and the news of her passing will be received with profound sorrow and surprise by the hundreds of friends in the city and elsewhere. Mrs. Richardson's was a noble Christian character, in every sense of the word, and her gracious personality as well as the prominence of the family in both business and social circles endeared her to a wider circle of friends than usually falls to the lot of humanity. Devoted to her home and family, she was an ideal wife and mother, patient and uncomplaining through many weary months of pain and, illness. The most precious heritage that she leaves to her children is her own gracious memory.
Sketch of Her Life.
Olive Torrence was born in Marion county Missouri, March 19, 1841, and was therefore in her seventieth year. She was married in Columbus, Ill., Sept, 8, 1857, to James Harvey Richardson, who passed away a number of years , ago. To this union was born five, sons and one daughter, as follows: Albert, Aaron; James Harvey (deceased); Mrs. Carrie Richardson Hoxsey; John Torrence; Emmet Dean and William Douglas, the last named residing in Sapulpa, Okla., the others all of this city. The sons are all connected- with the well-known Richardson Lubricating Oil company, an old established business firm of this city. There also survive nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. J H Crump; of 823 Broadway, of this city; and one Brother, Dr. Torrence of Blakesburg, Iowa. The; funeral arrangements are not complete at this writing, pending the arrival of friends and relatives, but interment will take place in the family lot in Woodland cemetery
