She was born February 13, 1922 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Ira Thomas Vance, Sr. and Nannie Putnam.
She was also preceded by her husband, Claude Earl Clifford; a brother, Ira Thomas Vance, Jr.; two granddaughters, Amber Ramsey and Dreama Johnson; and two grandsons, David Johnson and C. W. Johnson.
She was a secretary for Maryland Shipbuilding.
She is survived by daughter, Sandra (Richard) Johnson; son, Ira Mike (Donna) Clifford; granddaughter, Shannon Clifford Gillespie (Michael) Halcomb; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Lynn Wright officiating.
Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.
