Myrtle Marie Holt, 86, died Monday in Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born in Morehead, Ky., and moved to New Castle about 67 years ago.
She was the widow of Harold Holt, who died in 1972.
Mrs. Holt was a seamstress and for 22 years operated an alteration shop here. Before that, she had been a sales clerk at Century Press, a New Castle business that has been closed for many years.
She was a member of South Memorial Drive Church of God, where she taught Sunday school for several years and was a member of the women's choir.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Brown; nine sisters, Nina Bane, Tina Hutley, Leatha Tarr, Minnie Horer, Mable Wisehart, Laraine McCreary, Pauline Wright, Irene Campbell and Marjorie Smith; and two brothers, Malcomb and Paul Ellington.
