Erin Marie Greene, 24, of Winter Garden, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 26th, 2016, due to complications related to her long battle with Wegener's Granulomatosis. Erin was the beautiful and loving child of Shannon Fenech-Greene of Winter Garden, FL and Joseph Greene of Ada, MI, born on May 4th, 1991, in Grand Rapids, MI. She grew up adoring her older brother Ben. Erin and Ben both attended St. Jude School and Forest Hills Eastern High School. While at FHE, Erin was a standout in the Theatre and Music Departments. After graduation, Erin earned a scholarship at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, and participated in the College Program at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. In 2011, Erin decided to pursue her dream of a career with the Walt Disney Company. She relocated from Grand Rapids and took a more permanent position in the Entertainment Division at Disney World as a Character Attendant. In that position, she spread much love, joy and pixie dust in the hot Florida sun. Erin then moved on to the Guest Relations team at Disney, where she was commended often for her dedication to helping every guest she could in the most accommodating way. Most recently, Erin was a very proud and exemplary employee of the Guest Experience Services team, where she touched thousands of lives with her sparkling smile, fabulous wit, and dedication to making everyone happy. Her spirit glowed brightly and everyone she encountered fell instantly in love with her. Despite her struggles with a horrible disease, Erin never let that overshadow her light and her joy, as well as her willingness to serve those around her, whether in professional or personal capacity. Erin is survived by her parents (Joseph and Shannon), her brother Ben of Grand Rapids, her grandparents Terry and Carol Ann Fenech of Fort Myers, Florida, and her Grandmother Patricia Greene of Grand Rapids, MI as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Erin's life will be celebrated in a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 19th at 11:00 in the morning at the Basilica of St. Adalbert, 654 Davis NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. The Family will greet friends and family before the service, at 10:00 am, at the Basilica. Erin's cremains will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery (4100 Clyde Park Avenue SW, Wyoming) immediately following Mass. In fulfilling one of Erin's wishes, friends and family will host an Irish Celebration of Life and Homecoming Party at 6:00pm at the St. James Parish Center (733 Bridge Street NW).
