Early Life: Robert "Bob" was born a twin on November 11, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, to Joseph Alfred and Gertrude Evelyn Kuhlman Stringer. His twin was born the following day. As a young child, Bob enjoyed working with his father at a mass production furniture company. This is where Bob discovered his talent for working with his hands.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: At a young age, Bob started his first business called American Shoe Shine, a business of shining shoes in airports. It grew quickly and soon expanded to several locations and multiple employees. After American Shoe Shine, for his next business he spent some time on the Indian Reservations in Arizona and New Mexico learning to become a silversmith; this is where his passion for jewelry making began. Bob moved on to his next business venture designing and producing large rubber boats that were motorized. He successfully sold these boats all around the world at trade shows. Bob's next business venture was one that he went on to do the remainder of his life. Bob served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, the company of a women, and operating his tractor. He was a successful entrepreneur throughout is life. Robert Lee "Bob" Stringer, of Midway, Utah, passed away January 14, 2017. He was 72.
