He was the husband of the late Shirley R. (DeLong) Eidle, who died in 2011.
He was born in West Reading a son of the late Frederick H. and Annie C. (Breininger) Eidle.
Mac was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown, and a graduate of Kutztown High School.
He was employed at the former Fenstermacher & Son Hardward Store and Erb Electric for many years.
He was very active in the community having served on Kutztown Borough Council for 27 years,including being Council President. He was also on the Recreation Board for 10 years. Mac was also part of the Tuesday morning work crew at the Kutztown Area Historical Society.
He also served in the National Guard.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn S., wife of Neil Widdows, Blandon, and sons Douglas A., husband of Robin Decatur, Ga., Michael E., Philadelphia; grandchildren: Julianna, Kira and Ira Eidle, Naomi Preston, Gabrielle Widdows; great-grandchildren Bailey and Riley Preston; and a brother, David L. Wilson.
Graveside services Monday, January 23 at 1:30 p.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery, 650 Fritztown Rd., Reading. The Edward J. Hildenbrand Funeral Home, Inc, Kutztown, in charge of arrangements.
