ARMA, KS – Norman Lee Long, 77, long time rural Arma resident, died January 17, 2017 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.
He was born March 16, 1939 in Mulberry, KS the son of Elbert and Dorothy Whetzell Long.
He was a Mulberry High School Graduate, class of 1958.
Mr. Long was a Veteran, serving in the US Army, stationed in Germany.
He married Grace Elizabeth Klimek on October 11, 1989 in Miami, Oklahoma.
She survives at the home in rural Arma, KS.
He was the service manager for the Hudson Oil Companies, until his retirement.
Mr. Long was a Jehovah’s Witness and a member of Kingdom Hall in Pittsburg, KS.
Survivors include his wife Grace of the home in rural Arma, one daughter Lisa Crites (Gene) Marshall, TX, three sons Jeff Long (Lourie) Long, Liberal, MO, Scott Long, Liberal, MO, John Long (Chrystal) Pittsburg, KS, and a step-daughter Kimberly Stark (Shawn) Girard, KS, three sisters Freda Pallucca of Kansas City, MO, Mavis Willey (Pete) Mulberry, KS and Sharon Mitchell of Oklahoma City, OK and two brothers Ron Long (Bev) of Liberal, MO and Robert Long of Mulberry, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Earl Long and Harold Long.
Services will be Saturday, January 21st at 2pm at the Kingdom Hall in Pittsburg, KS.
Inurnment will be Janurary 27th. at 10 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, Kansas with military rites by the Kansas Army National Guard Funeral Honor Team.
Arrangements are by the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac, KS.
