Taken with one of the many attacks of asthma she has suffered in recent years, Mrs. Matilda Antognazzi, 65, passed away suddenly at her home, 420 South Pine, at 12:30 o'clock this morning. The deceased was born in Monterey, August 24, 1868, the daughter of Joseph G. Hartnell and Marie Watson Hartnell. She was the granddaughter of W. E. P. Hartnell, owner of the first custom house in Monterey. Fifty-one years ago she came with her parents to the Santa Maria valley at the age of 14 and settled at Hartnell lease near Orcutt. She was married to the late Louis Valenzuela in Guadalupe. She is survived by only one of her four children, Mrs. Flora Lumpkins of this city. She was later married to Elvezio Antognazzi, another pioner[sic] settler, who was employed by the Union Sugar company for a number of years previous to his death. Besides the daughter she is also survived by her brothers, Albert, William and James Hartnell and by her sisters, Mrs. James Domingues and Mrs. Teressa Fernandez, all of this city and by another sister, Mrs. Anne Plumbley of Mojave. Three grandchildren, Velma and Leonard Valenzuela and Valentine Lotti, who made their home with her are also left to mourn. Rosary will be said at the Dudley Mortuary chapel at 8:15 o'clock on Sunday evening, and a mass service will be conducted by Fr. Thomas V. Murphy at St. Mary's Catholic church at 9:30 o'clock on Monday morning. The funeral cortege will leave the chapel at 9:15 o'clock. Graveside services will be conducted by S. P. R. S. I. lodge No. 92 of which the deceased was a member.

Census takers sometimes got names/ages wrong, but I feel its still important to include as it shows who was in the household at that time.
