Sid was a member of New Providence Baptist Church and the Prayer and Praise Sunday School Class. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years; Dianne W. Lanier of Macon, two sons; Bryan Lanier (Sarah) of Macon, Brad Lanier of Colorado, five grandchildren; Jake Lanier and Morgan, Danielle and Ethan Lanier and Caroline Bennett, sister; Beverly (Dale) Wallace of Lawrenceville, GA, brother; Dale (Carolyn) Lanier of Lizella, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Noon in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Moore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Providence Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2560 U.S. 41 S., Forsyth GA 31029 or American Cancer Society , 804 Cherry Street, Macon GA 31201.
