Wilfred C. Dick

Wilfred C. "Screech" Dick, 73, Ore Hill, Roaring Spring RR, died Saturday morning, Dec. 7,1996, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 13, 1923, in Brookes Mills, the son of Harlen C. and Elizabeth (Wyant) Dick.
He married Helen L. Wentz March 22, 1944, in Roaring Spring.
Mr. Dick was a member of the Ore Hill Union Church, Roaring Spring RR.
He retired from the Steward Landfill, Roaring Spring, and was previously employed by Gardner Homes of Ebensburg.
Mr. Dick was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving as a medical technician in the European Theater of Operations.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Dick umpired the men's and women's Slow-Pitch Softball League in the Morrisons Cove area for many years.
He was a lifetime member of the Ray-Camp Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Roaring Spring, and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his wife, three sons: Larry C. and Donald T., both of Martinsburg, and Wilfred C. Jr. of Roaring Spring; seven daughters: Judy Hudson and Roberta Hoover, both of Roaring Spring, Mary Helsel of Martinsburg, Sheila Reasy of New Enterprise, Alice Hershberger of Hollidaysburg, Eva Dick of Roaring Spring, and
Susan Miller of Clappertown; a brother, Ford of Roaring Spring; two sisters: Kathryn Brubaker of Hollidaysburg and Pearl Feathers of Roaring Spring; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at
J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring.

DICK - Funeral services for Wilfred C. "Screech" Dick of Ore Hill, Roaring Spring RR, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring, by the Rev. John E. Gregory and the Rev. Charles R. Stump.
Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
