Frances Hyla Allen, 88, formerly of rural Williamsport IN, passed away 9:51 AM Monday January 16, 2017 at Parkview Healthcare in Attica Indiana.
Mrs. Allen was born June 8, 1928 in Covington, IN the daughter of Fred and Hester (Allen) Woodrow. She married Franklin D. Allen September 27, 1952, he has preceded her in death.
She is also preceded in death by four sisters, Una Daniel, Freda French, Marsha Woodrow, Mary Woodrow; two brothers, Freeman Woodrow and Forest Woodrow.
Surviving family include two daughters, Christy (Steve) Kruger, Veedersburg; Marla S. Allen, Covington; two granddaughters, Cassandra Kruger, Jessica Kruger-Harper; four great grandchildren, Dillon Kinderman, Wyatt Kinderman, Rachel Harper and Joel Harper.
Frances graduated from Kingman High School in 1946. Frances and her husband bought a farm in rural Williamsport in 1957; she had enjoyed working along with her husband on this farm as they raised beef cattle and did custom hay bailing. She had also worked as a cashier at the Williamsport Grocery store for many years.
Visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 pm Friday January 20, 2017 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg, At 2:30 Friday the procession will leave for Snoddy’s Coal Creek Cemetery for burial.
