Mrs. Brey of Lafayette Dies Very Suddenly
Mrs. Wolfgang Brey,47, of Lafayette Township, was found dead in the kitchen of her home this morning when her husband went to see why she had not come out to join him in doing the chores. Death was the result of a heart attack, the Nicollet county coroner reported.
Although Mrs. Brey had been under treatment of a physician, it was for other troubles and it was not known that she had a heart disorder.
Mr. and Mrs. Brey rose as usual this morning and he went to the barn while she started breakfast following their usual custom. She usually came out later to help with the chores and when she did not appear, Mr. Brey returned to the house to investigate. He found his wife lying on the kitchen floor. She had started the breakfast and apparently had been stricken without warning.
Mrs. Brey, the former Frieda Schaeffler, was born Feb. 12, 1898, in Lafayette Township, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schaeffler. She was married in New Ulm Holy Trinity church Sept. 28, 1919. There are no children. Since their marriage the Breys have lived in farms near Lafayette.
Surviving her are her husband, three brothers, Fred, Edward and Arthur Schaeffler of Lafayette area; two sisters, Mrs. Hugo Stadick of Sleepy Eye and Mrs. Stanley McCoy of Milwaukee, Wis. Another sister, Mrs. Joseph Kosek of Lafayette, died last January.
Time of funeral services has not been set but they will be held from St. Gregory church at Lafayette where she was a member of the Altar Society.
