David Louis Mercer, age 49, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (January 14, 2017) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield. He was born on April 21, 1967 in Louisville, KY, the son of Roger and Brenda Noe Mercer. A veteran of the US Navy, he was a fabricator for Akebono and a member of the Sulphur Wells “Snap” Baptist Church who enjoyed camping and restoring old cars.
He is survived by his wife,a son, two daughters,one granddaughter, two sisters, and his father. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Mercer; his mother and father-in-law, Leslie and Shirley Willis; and his grandparents, Johnnie Mercer, Marie Lambers, Lillian McClish.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (January 18, 2017) at the Sulphur Wells “Snap” Baptist Church. Bro. Chris Cann will be officiating. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and will move to the Sulphur Wells Baptist Church for visitation from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
