Henry C. Schmidt, 77, of 1726-27th St., Two Rivers, died early Wednesday morning at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Klein and Stangel Inc. Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Evangelical Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. T.F. Stern will officiate and burial will be in Pioneers Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Schmidt was born March 18, 1889, in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late Henry P. and Louisa Abrath Schmidt. He served in France with the 27th division of the U.S. Army during World War I. June 18, 1924, he married Grace Schmidt at Manitowoc. The couple farmed on Rt. 1, Two Rivers until retirement in 1951, coming to Two Rivers.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Adele) Riha and Mrs. Harvey (Mildred) Glaser, of Two Rivers; three sisters, Mrs. Otto Cess and Mrs. Carl Burmeister, of Two Rivers and Miss Henrietta Schmidt of Manitowoc; four grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday.

MARRIAGE OF HENRY/GRACE SCHMIDT

The marriage of Miss Grace Schmidt of Manitowoc, daughter of Mrs. Minnie Schmidt of Algoma and Henry Schmidt Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Hy Schmidt of the Town of Two Rivers, took place at Manitowoc Wednesday, Rev. Karl Machmiller performing the ceremony at the German Lutheran parsonage. Misses Clara and Henriette Schmidt, sisters of the groom and Andrew and Roland Bethke, cousins of the bride were the attending couples.

A wedding dinner was served at Mr. Geer's residence on North 7th Street, Manitowoc for whom the bride and her mother have been housekeepers. Immediately after the dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt left on a wedding trip to Reading, Pa., New York and Washington D.C. They expect to be gone for about six weeks and upon their return will reside on the groom's farm in the Town of Two Rivers.
