Richard Charles Elmore, 90, passed away on Friday, January 13th 2017.
Born on April 23rd 1926 in Walton, N.Y., he was the son of Ralph and Bernice Elmore.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving on the Destroyer Escort USS Newman.
Richard was a millwright at the Watervliet Arsenal for 35 years, retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed watching baseball and football. He was a Jeff Gordon fan and attended several NASCAR races with his family.
Hunting and fishing was his passion.
Richard was an active member of the Ballston Area Seniors.
Richard is survived by his wife of 69 years Shirley; his daughters Sherry Demers (Raymond) of Malta and Kimberly Messier (Michael) of Waterford; grandchildren Justin Demers (Jennie), Kyle Demers (Dr. Greg Fenton), Chad Halikias (Tiffany Cicarelli), Richard Halikias, and Zoe Halikias (Zach Mason); siblings Patricia O'Boyle, Judith Fisher, Rosemary Morehouse, Barry Pudney, and R. Michael Elmore; brother in law Ronald O'Dell; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Esther O'Dell.

Burial with military honors will follow at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on Duell Road in Schuylerville, N.Y.
