James Lloyd Benham, 74, of Brandenburg, died Monday, June 7, 1999, at his residence. He was born January 25, 1925,the son of James Z. and Betty Streible Benham. He was a member of NARFE.

Mr. Benham was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Benham, and a brother, Lawrence Benham. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Whelan Benham, Brandenburg; four children, David Benham, Louisville; Rebecca Benham Cox, Brandenburg; Charlotte Johnson, Clarkson; Michael Helfrich Benham, Germany; two brothers, George Benham, Elizabethtown; Luke Benham, Brandenburg; a foster daughter, Mandy Ward, Louisville; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 1999, from the Bethel Methodist Church with Rev. Dee Murphy officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery, directed by Hager Funeral Home.
