Ellen Larsen Rites June 12
Ellen Larsen was born June 6, 1908 at Copenhagen, Denmark to Hans and Pauline Jacobsen and died June 7, 1989 at the Burwell Community Hospital in Burwell, Nebraska at the age of 81.
She was raised in Copenhagen and received her education there. Ellen then worked as a cosmetologist for a while. She was married to Louis Madsen in 1929, at Copenhagen. She later married Hans Larsen on October 25, 1956, at Copenhagen. They moved to Ord in 1957 and Hans died in 1969. Ellen continued to make her home in Ord until her death.
Survivors include one son, Leif Madsen; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Helene Madsen of Copenhagen; two brothers Folmer and Otto Jacobsen, both of Copenhagen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 12, 1989 at the Bethany Lutheran Church at Ord with Rev. Henry Flessner officiating. Burial was in the Ord City Cemetery.
