Elbert Derrick, Sr., 66, died Tuesday at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. He died following a vehicle accident near Yakima, September 19. Born January 30, 1905 in Canistota, South Dakota, he came to Ellensburg with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Derrick in 1906.

Married Mary E. Lynn in Ellensburg in 1932. He was employed at Anderson dairy, Model Laundry and was custodian at Ellensburg schools before retiring recently as custodian for Ellensburg Telephone Company.

Member of Community Bible Church, he's survived by his wife Mary at the home, 307 W. 13th; three sons--Major Elbert Derrick, Jr., stationed with Air Force in Hawaii, Wray of Yakima and Dan of Spokane; one daughter, Mrs. Carroll Winston, Caldwell, Idaho, 15 grandchildren, one brother Urban of Tacoma.

Funeral at Evenson Chapel Saturday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Kermit Ecklebarger officiating; burial at High Valley Memorial Garden. Memorials may be sent to Community Bible Church building fund.
