Louis Bellessa, 51, died of gunshot wounds as a result of an apparent robbery Monday night.

Born in Cle Elum, April 29, 1921, he graduated from Cle Elum High School and attended Washington State university before entering the Army during WW II. Following his discharge from the Army he completed his education at WSU receiving a degree in pharmacy. In 1947 he was employed as a pharmacist at Service Drug in Ellensburg, and became a partner in Service Drug in 1960 and purchased the business from Mr. and Mrs. Jack Goettge in 1963.

He married Betty Lou Mackner September 4, 1959 in Seattle and they made their home at 108 N. Sampson, Ellensburg. He is survived by his wife Betty, a daughter Tammy Lou, and two stepsons, Paul Mackner, Seattle, and Pat Mackner, of Ellensburg, two stepdaughters, Miss Laurie mackner, and Mrs. Linda Snowden, both of Ellensburg, and a brother, Daniel Bellessa, Seattle.

Funeral will be Thursday, at 2 p.m. in the Evenson Chapel with the Reverent John Gaub officiating. Burial will follow in High Valley Memorial Gardens.
