Born in Cherokee Springs, he was the son of the late John William Gore, Sr. and Lois Morris Gore.
Mr. Gore served in the US Navy during World War II. He was an outside sales representative for Allison-Erwin Company and a member of White Oak Baptist Church.
Surviving are son John “Johne” William Gore III of Bishopville; daughters, Judy Fortenberry and husband, Wallace, of Cataula, GA, Cherie Bragg of Marietta, GA, and Susan Posey and husband, Gene, of Myrtle Beach. Grandchildren, Lee, Mike, and Jeff Fortenberry, Michele Foster, Andy Posey, Ceph Bragg, and Elyssa Agee; eleven great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild. Mr. Gore was the last member of his immediate family.
Burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
