Steele, MO-J. G. Farris, 88, died at his home in Denton Community Thursday evening after a sudden heart attack.
He was born at Iuka, Miss., and after his marriage to Miss Mary E. Floyd moved to this county and for many years has been a progressive farmer of the Denton community.
Funeral services were held at the Denton Baptist church Friday afternoon by Rev. M. A. Massey. Interment was in the Mt. Zion cemetery. Surviving are his wife, six sons, one daughter, twenty-eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
