DONNA KOEBRICK
(1933-2017)

Donna Marie (Paulus) Koebrick, 83, Charles City, passed peacefully on Jan. 8, 2017, surrounded by family.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday Jan. 12, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Church in Charles City. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City with a lunch subsequently at the KC Hall. Visitation will be held Wednesday Jan. 11, 2017, at Hauser Funeral Home.

Donna was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Rockford to William (Bill) and Alma (Casperson) Paulus as the eighth of nine children. She graduated from Rockford High School in 1952. Donna married Wesley Koebrick on Feb. 3, 1954, in Rockford. Donna and Wes raised four children, Linda, Steve, Mark and Jon, on their farm north of Charles City. Donna worked on the farm, at family business Koebrick Welding as well as Oliver/White Farm, Salsbury Labs and Solvay through the years.

She will be remembered fondly as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, coworker and friend by those who knew her. Donna loved playing and watching sports and was an especially avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. She enjoyed a good joke, dancing, big band music and spending time with family and friends, especially including her grandchildren. She loved Wes more than anything and thought she was luckiest woman to have snagged her handsome husband. Wes knew she was the one from the first day they met and thought he was the luckiest guy to get her heart. Donna and Wes spent sixty-three loving years together and were dedicated to each other above all things. She made the world's best potato salad, apple pie and Special K bars. She worked hard, took pride in doing a good job and never wanted to be late for anything.

Donna is survived by husband Wes and her four children Linda (Steve) Barnum of Colfax, IA, Steve (Colette) Koebrick of Charles City, Mark (Linda) Koebrick of Roseville, CA and Jon (Cathy) Koebrick of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren Ashley, Sarah, Shannon, Jared, Derek, Chase, Bailey and Aaliyah; seven step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother Calvin.

Donna was preceeded in death by her parents and siblings Thomas, Marjorie (Margie), Ruth, Arlyn, Robert (Bob), Dale, and Dan.

In lieu of gifts the family directs donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Donna’s name.
