Roman A. (Romy) Endries, age 85, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away Saturday morning, January 7, 2017.
He was born January 9, 1931 in St. Nazianz, son of the late Clemens and Emily (Riesterer) Endries. Romy attended Kiel High School. He then served in the U.S. Army as a cook overseas in Germany for three years. On April 18, 1959, he married Lenor Geiger at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brillion, WI. Romy was employed as a machinist at Parker Hannifin formerly Imperial Eastman until his retirement. He was previously employed at Sentry in Reedsville as a meat cutter. Romy enjoyed processing deer for many people.
Survivors include six children and their spouses: Dennis and Brenda Endries, Osman; Mark Endries, Manitowoc; David and Michelle Endries, Manitowoc; Linda and Rick Mauthe, Neenah; Mary and Dan Simon, Oregon, WI; Janice and Randy Hughes, DeForest; nine grandchildren: Darlene, Dan (Kirsten), David (Sara), Derek, Amber, Michael, Grant, Allison and Zachary; two great grandchildren: Layla and Frederick; one sister: Marjorie Bushman, Howards Grove; one brother and sister-in-law: Alfred and Kathleen Endries, Pipe; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Kenneth and Beatrice Geiger, Brillion; Sally Geiger, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law: Melvin and Joanne Mueller. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Loretta and Emmet Klusmeyer; Rita and Hank Wilke; Jean Mueller, Dolores and Leo Burkart; one brother and sister-in-law: Alphons and Monica Endries; one brother-in-law: Leroy Geiger.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 North 14th Street) Manitowoc. Officiating the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Michael Warden. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth. Military Rites will be accorded
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
