Sean, the son of Jim and Jennifer (Cook) Ryan, was born on August 11, 2002 in Park Ridge, Illinois. As a child Sean lived in Wisconsin where he attended Forest Park Elementary and John Paul II Academy; Omaha where he went to Neihardt Elementary and Millard North Middle; and most recently Newton, Iowa where he was an 8th grader at Berg Middle School. Sean was a member of the Berg Middle School basketball team and also ran cross country and track. He was a spontaneous, risk taking, adrenaline junkie that wanted to be a U.S. Marine. Sean loved his family pets and was affectionately known as the “chicken whisperer”. He was also very handy and enjoyed working on projects from plumbing, to wiring, to building a chicken coop.
Sean is survived by his parents, Jim and Jennifer “Darby” Ryan of rural Newton; sister, Shannon Ryan of rural Newton; maternal grandmother, Mary Cook of Roanoke, Virginia; and the Ryan and Cook families including his aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, George Richard Cook; paternal grandparents, John “Jack” and Doris Ryan; and an uncle, John Ryan.
