Michael J. McDonell, a former resident of Frostburg, died Thursday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Talbott, Mannington, WV. He went to Monongah, WV, 23 years ago, from Frostburg. His only sister, Mrs. Mary Moran, resides at Frostburg. D.H. McDonell, Clarksburg, is his brother. Surviving are four children, John McDonell and Mrs. Talbott, both of Mannington; William McDonell of Bethlehem and D.H. McDonell of Meadowworth, WV. There are also three grandchildren. The funeral will be held at Clarksburg tomorrow.
Mr. Michael McDonnell died at his home in Main Street on Thursday, January 18, 1923. His death was a shock to his family and many friends, as he had only been ill about one week with influenza, which later developed in pneumonia. Mr. McDonnell was 74 years of age. He had been a faithful and trustworthy employee of the Consolidation Coal Company. Mrs. McDonnell preceded him to the grave about six years ago. Surviving him are the following children: Mrs. Thomas Talbott, Mr. John McDonnell, both of Monongah; Wm. McDonnell of Bethlehem and Patrick H McDonnell of Meadowbrook. Funeral services were conducted in the Catholic church of Clarksburg, and interment was made in the Holy Cross Cemetery. (Unverified source)
