Dolly served for a number of years as a private secretary for Wren Paper Company executives. Dolly was a loving, caring and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was affectionately known as “Mimi” to her grandchildren. Dolly was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middletown, and enjoyed playing bridge and working crossword puzzles.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward R. and Beulah Padgett; and her husband, Theodore F. Abernethy in 1971.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Kyle (Brittany) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Nancy Herr (Mike) of Dayton, Ohio; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Bellamy (Steve) of Pacific Palisades, California, Julie Weston (Scott) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Melissa Lorenz (Reiff) of Dayton, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
There will be a private memorial service for family members. The family wishes to express their special appreciation and gratitude to the men and women of Mount Pleasant Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Dolly in her later years.
