Helen Sue Barber, 63, of 521 East Gibson St, Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2003 in an out of town hospital. She was born July 7, 1939 in Polk County. She was preceded in death by her son, Russell Matthew Barber, her parents, Jack and Helen Hurley, and a grandson, Jim Miller. Survivors include her husband, Elijah Barber, Jr.; daughters, Clara Ann Redding and Chenell Hurstine Pierce; sons, Elijah (Buddy) Barber III, Randy Dwight Barber and Wymon Earl Barber; sisters, Wanda Hurley, Judy Shell, Jackie Ledbetter and Angie Blalock; brothers, Ray and Anthony (Bubba) Hurley; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 14 at 2 p.m. at Little Cedar Methodist Church with Rev. Ernest Thompson officiating. The interment followed in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Timmy Ledbetter, Thomas Ledbetter, Tommy Jackson, Jim Welchel, Danny Timms, Michael Timms, Stu David, Tim Morris, David Williams and Billy Reeds. The Gammage Funeral Home of Cedartown was in charge of the arrangements. Tony Valentine, Tim Carter and T.J. Harcourt. The Alvis Miller & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
