Myra Harriet Lichtenstein passed away on January 12, 2007, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 87. She was born on April 1, 1919, in Brooklyn, New York, to Louis and Bella (Goldstein) Jacobson. She was raised, and attended school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Olney High School. On November 15, 1946, Myra married Nathan Lichtenstein. They remained soul mates until Nathan's death in 1986. Myra and Nathan lived in Philadelphia, where he was a successful businessman. They belonged to Har Zion Temple, and Myra was active in O.R.T., Hadassah, and B'nai Brith Women. They were proud parents of two children, Israel and Amy. In 2003, Myra moved to Oklahoma City, OK, where she was cared for by her daughter, Amy. In addition to her husband, Nathan, Myra was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joyce Labovitz. She is survived by her son, Dr. Israel Lichtenstein and his wife, Karen of South Hampton, PA, and her daughter, Amy Settles and her husband, David of Oklahoma City, OK. She leaves six grandchildren,Avram Lichtenstein of Philadelphia, PA, Stephen Lichtenstein of Gainesville, GA, Michael Lichtenstein of Philadelphia, PA, Sara Settles of Bethany, OK, and her fianci Dusty Douglas, Melanie Settles of Oklahoma City, and Nathan Settles of Oklahoma City, OK. She is additionally survived by longtime friend, Julia South of Philadelphia, PA. Memorial and graveside services will be conducted at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose, PA, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Nathan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emanuel Synagogue sisterhood located at 900 N.W. 47th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
