Fowler. Ind.. Nov. 28.— While attempting to clamber on the rear of a closed carriage, Everett Hazelbaker, eleven, lost his footing and his leg slipped between the spokes of the hind wheel, being wound round the spokes and crushed. It was necessary to remove the wheel before the leg could be released and in the haste the boy’s leg was wrenched off at the knee. Physicians were immediately summoned, but the shock was so great that the boy died in a few hours.—Monday, Nov. 28, 1904 Kokomo Daily Tribune
