Angel-Baby Joseph was the first child of Robert and Aniceta Galpin. He was born at Madigan General Hospital and lived for 1 hour 45 minutes. He was premature at 5.5 months. In 1948, babies at that age could not be saved.

His mother was a War Bride, who had just arrived in the USA that very day, from the Philippines, and was taken directly from the ship when it arrived in Seattle, by ambulance, to Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma.
