She was preceded in death by her parents Mamie Wedgeworth Vinzant and Leland Levy Vinzant, her husband of 55 years O.B. (Burnell) Foley, Jr., two brothers George W. Vinzant and James Troy Vinzant.
She graduated from George S. Gardiner High School in Laurel. Helen worked as a Department Store Buyer for Carter Heide and Fine Bros Matison. She was also an amazing self-taught artist. She won many awards for her specialty abstract art along with her flower arranging abilities. She was a member of the Park Place Garden Club and an active member of the First United Methodist where she was involved in the First United Methodist Women’s Circle. Helen was also a great friend of animals and especially cats. She fed and rescued many a cat in the Laurel and Jones County area.
She is survived by a son Michael Patrick Foley (Vickie), two grandsons Joseph Patrick Foley and Michael Edward Foley and one great grandson Elijah Guice Foley all of Biloxi, a sister in law Ethel Vinzant of Laurel and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, January 6th at two o’clock at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Laurel. Memory Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
