Mr.Vinzant was born in Smith County to Lelon and Mamie Vinzant. He moved to Jones County at an early age and remained except for his service in World War II.
He served in the Italian campaign with the 85th infantry division and was awarded the bronze star, the Purple Heart medal and the combat infantry badge of which he was especially proud. Mr. Vinzant was a life member of the American Legion, the VFW and the 40&8.

He was employed with the Laurel City Lines as a bus driver until bus service ended in Laurel. He was known to many as “Mr. Bus Driver”. Later, he was self-employed in the television antenna business and became known as the “Antenna Man”.

Mr. Vinzant is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ethel Brogan Vinzant, and one son, Kenneth M. Vinzant (Judith), two granddaughters, Amy Jackson (Roger) and Lesley Vinzant, two great granddaughters, McKenzie Jackson and Elizabeth (Libby) Jackson, all of Birmingham, Alabama and one sister, Helen Foley, of Biloxi in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be Monday, August 8, 2016, at 11:00 am at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at Memory Chapel on Monday, August 8, 2016, at 10:00 am.
