Barsina Black was the first child of James and Mary Morrison Black. She married Levi Ketchum in Maury Co., TN, on January 13, 1826. In the late 1930s they moved their family to Fayette County and established a plantation in Warren, a few miles west of Somerville.

Barsina died in childbirth and was buried with her infant daughter. Her gravestone is a large slab lying flat on the ground.

Inscription

“In memory of Mrs. Barsina Ketchum
who with her infant daughter departed this life
July 1st 1842 in the 36th year of her age
