listed in T.P.T.W., p. B-76 and listed in M.C.T.C. Feb 16 Feb 1987 at which time the marker for this grave was not found. pg. 134.)
Little is recorded about this pioneer to the Carter's Creek area. He was one of the original settlers on the tract of land granted to Gen. Daniel Carter, Revolutionary soldier, by the N.C. government. Others who settle on this 5,ooo acre tract were: Robert Campbell, Seth Gordon, W. Witherspoon, Frank, Jackson and Armstead Polk, and many others. It was an area of first quality soil and by 1850 had extensive cotton plantations.
