Judy Carol Buchanan, age 69, of Fairview Lane in Spruce Pine, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at her home.
Born on March 18, 1947 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Elma Sparks Duncan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers; Bill, Jack, Ted, Jim, and Donald Duncan and her sisters; Anna Lee Pitman and Phyllis Grindstaff.
Judy was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church, sang in the church choir and loved her Sunday School class. She was a giving person and was wonderful to everyone.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of fifty years; David Buchanan of the home; her daughters; Michelle Buchanan of Winston-Salem, NC and Jennifer Buchanan of the home; her brother; Jerry Duncan and wife, Annette of Spruce Pine; her sisters; Ruth Grindstaff of Bakersville and Eloise Hall and husband, Ted of Newton, NC; her sisters-in-law; Barbara Stogner of Spruce Pine, Lou Ellen Peterson of Bakersville, Peggy Duncan of Raleigh, and Phyllis Duncan of Hillsborough, NC and a host of nieces and nephews.
