Anna Lee Pitman, age 88, of Spruce Pine died Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Anna Lee was born on October 26, 1925 in Mitchell County and was the daughter of the late Jerry and Elma Sparks Duncan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Pitman who passed away in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Bill, Jack, Ted, Jimmy, and Donald Duncan and a sister; Phyllis Grindstaff.
She was a member of the Pine Branch Baptist Church. She loved her family, home, and was a wonderful housekeeper. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers.
Anna Lee Pitman leaves behind her son; Dean Pitman and wife, Kaye of Spruce Pine; her granddaughter; Deena Rathbone and husband, Ronnie of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her great grandchildren; Whitney Rathbone Brock and husband, Daniel; Savannah Rathbone, Larke Rathbone, and Christian Rathbone all of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and a great, great grandson; Isaiah Brock of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her sisters; Eloise Hall and husband, Ted of Newton, NC; Ruth Grindstaff of Bakersville; and Judy Buchanan and husband, David of Spruce Pine; and her brother; Jerry Duncan and wife, Annette of Bakersville.
