Katharine Alt was born November 4th, 1877, in Bavaria, and came to this country with her parents when eleven years of age. She was married to John Pletzer, Jr., August 22d, 1900, and died at her home in Big Hollow March 15th, 1915, at the age of 37 years, four months and eleven days.
To this union were born ten children, nine to whom, the youngest an infant, are left to mourn the loss of this kind mother, whose death was a shock to the community. Besides her husband and children, Mrs. Pletzer is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Alt of Plain, one brother George, of Menomonie, and a host of friends who mourn her early departure.
Funeral services were held at St. John's church in Spring Green on Thursday morning, March 18th. Rev. George Pesch of Plain officiated,and the body was laid to rest beside that of her little son Herman who died a year ago.
