Arnold W. Burke Sr., 86, of 1016 S. Main St., died MOnday morning, August 17, 1992, at Jacksonville Convalescent Center.
He was born Sept. 14, 1905, in White Cloud, Mich., the son of Emil and Hilma Stone Burke. He married Evelyn Trimmier Jan. 7, 1927, in Fort Worth, Texas, and she survives.
He is survived by one son, Arnold W. "Bill" Burke Jr. of Carlsbad, N.M.; one grandson; one granddaughter; two brothers, Carl Burke of Livonia, Mich. and Paul Burke of Muskegon, Mich.; and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Warren of Lansing, Mich. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Mr. Burke was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Prior to coming to Jacksonville, he was a professional trombonist who played with nationally recognized bands on the RKO circuit. He played in several local bands and was a longtime member of Local 128 of the American Federation of Musicians.
Prior to his retirement, he was the owner and operator of Burke's T.V.
Graveside rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Diamond Grove Cemetery. Friends may call any time after noon Wednesday at Cody and Son Memorial Home with the family meeting friends 6:30-7:30 p.m.
